No lubricating oil is being supplied to the engine. The warning horn is activated if the oil pump should ever stop functioning electrically. Refill the engine mounted oil reservoir along with the remote oil tank.Įngine Guardian System is activated.
The oil level is critically low in the engine mounted oil reservoir. Moving throttle lever back to idle resets the system.Įngine Guardian System is activated. The Guardian System must be RESET before engine will operate at higher speeds. If no water is coming out of the water pump indicator hole or flow is intermittent, stop engine and check water intake holes for obstruction. Shift outboard into neutral and check for a steady stream of water coming out of the water pump indicator hole. Power limit will vary with level of overheat. Refer to Maintenance – Fuel System for filter removal.Įngine Guardian System is activated.
Water in the water separating fuel filter reaches the full level. Refill the engine mounted oil reservoir along with the remote oil tank. Oil lever is low in the engine mounted oil reservoir.
For visual display of the specific engine functions and for additional engine data, refer to SmartCraft Product information, following. This will alert the operator and help identify the following listed situations. The warning horn will emit either a continuous beep or intermittent short beeps. When the key switch is turned to the “ON” position, the horn will turn on for a moment as a test to show the horn is working. The warning horn may be located inside the remote control or connected to the ignition key switch.ī – Horn connected to ignition key switch WARNING HORN SIGNALS
Tried to find an online manual to download to see if it said anything but no joy.The outboard warning system incorporates a warning horn inside the boat. Will check manual (didn't have time last night) but it's on the boat so can't check it till next down there. It's never bleeped once (apart from ignition on test bleep) in three years of use. Wound it out to WOT briefly, still perfect.īack into harbour, no bleeps, no double bleeps, nothing. Eased revs up and up, absolutely fine, gauges all fine, no problems. Set off gently, built up speed, no bleeps, not even the double bleep we had initially on way out.
Every time the engine peaked (about 3,000prm or so) it would bleep once and stop as the revs dropped. Tried blipping the engine in neutral just to see what happened. Stopped at destination (only 10 min run), dropped anchor, shut off engine. Still perfect, boat performing fine, still the double beep every two mins or so. Once we were out I opened her up (I thought it could possible be low battery and maybe more revs would give it more alternator) and watched the guages. Gauges were reading fine, exactly where they should be. Last night when out on the boat I started it up fine, headed out the harbour, and about every two minutes it gave a double beep (each beep about 1/2 second). (It also has "Smartcraft" which is electronic engine management which shuts the power down to an acceptable amount if it detects a problem). The idea of the alarm is that if you get low oil pressure, battery voltage or high water temp it sounds to alert you. It has a warning alarm and when you switch the ignition on it beeps once to let you know it's active and working.
